Jeamin Cha joins KADIST San Francisco for a four-month residency to expand on her research on contemporary forms of depression and its societal causes. Reflecting on the relationship between mental wellness and late capitalism, she examines the intricacies of mental health counseling, as well as the use and effects of new technologies in the field such as Artificial Intelligence and chatbots. Cha will connect and conduct interviews with individuals and organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Jeamin Cha’s residency culminates in the production of a new video and a solo exhibition at KADIST San Francisco in 2020.
