OSE

From 2016 to 2019 Kadist invited curators to write a single sentence, making each word in the sentence a hyperlink to an image, video, text, or other ‘web object’. As a result, the title of the exhibition becomes a compact architecture, accompanying the reader as they explore far-reaching corners of the internet.

The One Sentence Exhibition recognizes the tendency of individuals and institutions to produce abbreviated packets of information on the internet, and it aims to do so without forgoing the depth, diversity, and sophistication a condensed form implies.

Using a readily distributable format, the One Sentence Exhibition compiles and sequences departure points. The OSE might be thought of as combining title, description, or narration—alternating between diegetic and extra-diegetic accompaniment.
