Sheau Yun Lim

Writer and editor, in the fields of art, architecture, and their histories, Sheau Yun Lim will serve as guest curator for an exhibition exchange and collaboration between ILHAM, Kuala Lumpur (2025), and KADIST San Francisco (2026).

Lim’s research is concerned with how political economies structure affective economies, and how, through art, affective economies might, in turn, rethink, re-present, and restructure political economies. To that end, the worldwide system of plantations serves as a site to examine these economic and affective dependencies. How might we tell stories of people and commodity beyond commodification?
