San Francisco Venue Update
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
KADIST programs at the San Francisco venue (exhibitions, events, residencies) will be discontinued starting in the summer of 2026, to allow for an expansion of our International programs—in particular those with partners across the Americas (North America and Latin America). Our international collaborations with museums and art centers around the world began in 2013, and have continued to take a more central role, shaping the identity and future priorities of KADIST. In recent years, the international programs have increased beyond our modest team’s capacity to support them while also managing our local program at the 20th and Folsom location, alongside many other developments such as the growing collection, online programs, and co-commissions.
We’re very grateful for our dedicated staff who have skillfully guided the program in San Francisco, and will continue to organize exhibitions and events in San Francisco until mid 2026. We would like to emphasize that this plan has been taking shape for over a year, and that our global staff and more than twenty advisors will continue to work within our evolving network—connecting remote workers across the Americas and the world.
KADIST intends to stay connected with San Francisco in the years ahead, and we’re very grateful to the local community for what will, by 2026, be 15 years of involvement with contemporary art in the city. In that time, we’ve collaborated with over a dozen different institutions, both large and small in the greater Bay Area, and we are so grateful for their trust and support over the years.
